This Sweet Dog Is Looking For A Family And Has Been Waiting For 9 Years
Max has been a rescue at the Eleventh Hour Animal Shelter in New Jersey since he was one year old.
He clearly had a difficult past, especially when the rescuers found him with BB gun pellets in his legs. It's been almost ten years since he was brought to the shelter, but everyone is still hopeful that Max will find his forever home soon.
The gregarious pooch is quite big even when he was still young, which seemed like the plausible reason why potential adopters tend to ignore him. His size might scare people away, but he is far from aggressive. He is actually the friendliest and most cheerful dog around.
With a heart as big as him, he has earned the nickname "Max the Mush."
Max weighs 86 pounds, but he acts like a small, excitable puppy. Volunteers at the shelter describe him as a playful and friendly dog with a bit of stubbornness, which is common to any other dog. The adorable pooch was able to steal the hearts of everyone at the rescue because of his sweet and contagious smiles.
But the senior dog has been waiting for a long time, and this has begun to affect him negatively. Max is coping with shelter life, but he has started to become more anxious, and the stress is now taking a toll on the charming dog.
He needs his own forever home, and all his friends are doubling their efforts in finding him one.
The most suitable home for Max is a child-free and relaxed household. The senior pooch will greatly thrive under the care of an experienced and patient owner who will shower him with the love that he deserves. In turn, his future family will be assured of a fun travel buddy, an energetic running partner, and a sweet, cuddle pal. We are all hopeful that Max's family out there will come and adopt him the soonest.
