Overweight Chihuahua Abandoned In New Jersey Fostered By A Loving Home
This overweight chihuahua named Stanley got abandoned by his former owners in a locked crate along the New Jersey Highway. Luckily, local animal control got flagged about the pooch, and Stanley was immediately rescued.
However, this is one problem that the dog faces, and that is obesity. Chihuahua is one of the smallest dog breeds, but Stanley weighs around 21 pounds.
This is above the healthy weight for his dog breed.
This is why the pooch seemed to have difficulty in his mobility.
A Facebook post from Ramapo-Bergen Animal Rescue explained the dilemma of the pooch. After he got rescued, the pooch was brought to the animal shelter. The volunteers found the pooch very cute and adorable because of how fluffy the pooch is.
He had a minor injury, but the same is manageable and can be cured at home, according to the veterinarian who checked on the pooch. The animal shelter was able to find a foster home for the pooch, where he could recuperate from his injuries.
Megan Brinster, the one who fostered the pooch, said that she pitied Stanley because of his condition. But more than this, Megan is disappointed that the dog’s former owner abandoned the pooch in this kind of situation. The dog’s four legs were severely deformed, so Megan makes sure that the dog does not hurt himself under Megan’s watch.
When Megan first saw the pooch, she knew that she would develop a good bond with the pooch. She got it right because she was able to build a good rapport with the pooch right away. On the other hand, Stanley showed his soft spot to Megan.
According to Megan, the dog is now waiting for his potential home. As soon as the dog fully recovers, the dog will meet with his new parents.
